SOLVING THE FASHION CRISIS

SOLVING THE FASHION CRISIS
Posted on

Fashion is the second largest polluter in the world, after Oil. Have a watch of TED’s video below, which explains how T-shirts are made and sold around the world. We intend to solve it, one T-shirt at a time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BiSYoeqb_VY

 (1) FARMING

The first stage in the production of T-shirt is farming of the raw cotton. We only use organic cotton, which means that no pesticides or fertilisers are used in production, ensuring that farmers don’t get any nasty chemicals on their hands. It also means that our planet’s water table remains clean which is vital for everyone, especially our children. Only 1% of the industry currently use organic cotton. We want this to change.

(2) SPINNING
The bails of cotton are sent to superb spinning mills in the USA, which pull and twists the natural fibre into threads of yarn. The machinery, labour force and quality are unmatched.

(3) KNITTING
The yarn is then knitting into fabric in a facility in the USA. As both the spinning and knitting is done locally, the carbon footprint is considerably reduced.

(4) DYEING & WASHING
The fabric is dyed to a certain colour using AZO-free dyes and a treatment process to ensure no harmful chemicals impact the planet. It is always sourced locally in the USA to minimise carbon footprint. We are very proud to say our T-shirts wash extremely well, which gives your T-shirt a long life. You won’t need to buy as many.

(5) CUTTING - MAKING - TRIMMING
The dyed fabric is then cut into specific shapes and sewn to produce the final T-shirt product. We have partnered up with one of the leading state-of-the-art factories in California that guarantee fair wages, reasonable hours and superb working conditions. We want everyone involved in the production cycle of our T-shirts to thrive.

(6) QUALITY CONTROL
We make sure each and every T-shirt goes through a highly thorough quality control. Our T-shirts are made over 20 measurements and each one has very strict tolerances which must be passed before becoming available for sale.

(7) DELIVERY
Each and every T-shirt is sent to our storage facility. Once you order your T-shirt, they ensure you experience the very best delivery services in the world. With our 30 day free return policy, you can return what doesn’t fit thereby minimising waste.
